Independent Living and Retirement Communities Project
Special attention to accessibility and adaptability was given to the design of this senior independent living development in Waverly. Located in a quiet rural setting on the edge of town, the Liberty Estates Townhome project includes 12 duplexes featuring 2- and 3-bedroom units with attached garages, convenient off-street parking, a gazebo and attractive landscaping. Two units were specifically designed for individuals with disabilities and one was designed for those with hearing and vision impairments. All units were designed to meet or exceed the ‘visitability” design standards, as defined by Nebraska Assistive Technology Partnership. Design of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems included electric heat pumps for HVAC systems.
