ADA designed a complete and phased remodel of Mickle Middle School for Lincoln Public Schools, which included an addition for a fitness center, the industrial technologies department and a new gym. A south addition included 13 new classrooms, new public restrooms and mechanical spaces. The remainder of the existing building was remodeled to meet current ADA, fire safety and international building codes. The project also included a complete re-roof and exterior upgrade with masonry restoration and new windows. Existing bathrooms, along with an additional elevator and staircase, were upgraded to provide accessibility. All of this work was completed while the building was occupied.
